Photonic Therapy
What is Photonic Therapy?
McLaren Photonic Therapy is a noninvasive, pain free, sterile, safe, and effective way to eliminate pain and promote healing. It is based on the use of a specific torch like instrument which produces 185mW of energy in the 660nm wavelength. The torch is turned on and placed on specific acupuncture points on the the skin. Under the skin is connective tissue which converts any stimulation into electrical impulses that are conveyed to the brain by the nerve cells. This stimulation changes the body's function by releasing certain chemicals and hormones from the brain that relieve pain, promote healing, and increase immune response.
How many treatments does it take?
Normally it only takes 4 or 6 treatments to fix all but the most serious problems. Treatments are given every other day. Within 48 hours of the first treatment, you should see marked improvement, even if the horse is not completely better. There should also be a reduction in reaction to tender or reactive points.
How will my horse react?
You will probably notice your horse drawing up its flanks, raising its tail, quietly passing wind, licking its lips, or dropping its head and becoming sleepy.
How is my horse evaluated?
After taking a brief history and watching your horse move, I will test your horse's reaction at 13 standard acupuncture points on both sides of its body to determine where it needs to be treated.
